Llopiz Wizel Welcomes Angel Bermudez, Multi-Jurisdictional Attorney With Extensive Expertise in Civil Litigation, Licensed to Practice in Florida, California, New York, Texas, and Washington, D.C.


In his litigation practice, Angel has represented clients in contractual disputes, foreclosures, derivative actions, international investment disputes, and trademark infringement cases. Angel has represented clients in state and federal trial courts and arbitral tribunals. Angel’s bilingual arbitration practice is focused on domestic and international contracts, consumer protection, and coverage controversies.

Angel was selected as a Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2023 and 2024, after receiving recognition from his peers for his “outstanding work and commitment to the spirit=of the legal profession.” Super Lawyers are identified as “their knowledge of the law, professional work ethic, and advocacy on behalf of their clients allow them to stand out among other attorneys in the field.”

Angel graduated from the University of Miami School of Law, where he earned an International Arbitration LL.M. and a Juris Doctor with honors. As a law student, Angel earned multiple academic achievement awards and received merit-based scholarships. Additionally, Angel was a member of the International Moot Court Program where he represented the University of Miami School of Law at the Willem C. Vis, the world’s largest and most prestigious commercial international arbitration competition, and at various Vis Pre-Moots, which took place in the United States and in Europe. For his role as an advocate, Angel earned several awards, including an induction into The Order of Barristers, a highly-selective honor society providing recognition to the top advocates demonstrating exceptional skill in trial advocacy, oral advocacy, and brief writing.


Angel is fluent in English, Spanish, and German. His professional memberships include the Miami International Arbitration Society, the Hispanic National Bar Association, the Cuban American Bar Association, the Puerto Rican Bar Association of Florida, and the American Bar Association. He has also been an active member of Phi Alpha Delta and a recipient of the HOPE Pro Bono Award and the HOPE Community Service Award. His academic excellence is further demonstrated by multiple Book Awards and four CALI Excellence for the Future Awards.


In addition to his extensive litigation and arbitration experience, Angel is admitted to practice law in Florida, New York, Texas, California, Montana, and Washington, D.C. He is also admitted to the United States District Courts for the Southern District of Florida, Southern District of New York, and Central District of California, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, the Florida Southern District Bankruptcy Court, and the United States Supreme Court.
